Song Bird Series 2018-2020
My song birds were started when the White Mountain Magic Woolens Guild wanted to have rug hookings that relate to New Hampshire for their show in 6”x8” size
I decided to do the State bird, the purple finch.
I thought it would be nice to do a group of several Song Birds that we see at our bird feeders or hear singing in springtime. I did a Bluebird next. Then I created a beautiful red cardinal. I found that I could use a lot of my bright mixed colors of wool for the backgrounds on each one, which was great.
Someone saw them and asked me to do a Red Wing Blackbird, which I did with a sky more like my water birds.
A woodpecker is coming next.
