Camels Hump overlooking the farmland of my grandparents. It is from a photograph taken by me in the summer. I envisioned a fall landscape and added the barn which is no longer standing. I used yarn as well as wool yardage to create the vibrant colors. The rug is part of a series of Vermont landscapes that have a personal connection to me.
About the artist:
I have been hooking for 25 years and started after attending a Hooked in the Mountains show in Waitsfied. Certainly seeing Patty Yoder and Jule Marie Smith’s rugs were my first inspirations. Over the years I have loved so many hooker’s works not the least of whom are the women that I have gathered weekly with to share our rugs and our stories.
