When Grace was a girl, her grandmother would sing the words hooked in this rug to her. They are from the poem “The Old Oaken Bucket” by Samuel Woodworth (1794-1842). In 1826, the poem was set to music by George F. Kiallmark (1804-1887). The view pictured in the rug is from the cottage where Grace’s family grew up.
