The puffin rug is second in a series of bird-themed rugs that are hooked by me. The first is a rather large peacock rug perched on a fence. My teachers for these rugs were Judy Carter and Jon Ciemiewitz.

Puffins fascinate me because they often seem playful and joyful. The rug was hooked using the contour shading method on rug warp with wool.

If you get a chance, go on a Puffin Watch trip in Maine to observe these delightful birds.

This is in memory of two creative rug hookers who were very involved in the early rug shows.
