This rug is part of a series of Vermont landscapes that represent personal and familiar scenes. Our home and camp are on Lake Iroquois and the properties have been in the family for over 50 years.
I used yarns and sari as well as wool fabric. The goal was to create a painterly effect to enhance the beauty of summer colors.
About the artist:
I have been hooking for 25 years and started after attending a Hooked in the Mountains show in Waitsfied. Certainly seeing Patty Yoder and Jule Marie Smith’s rugs were my first inspirations. Over the years I have loved so many hooker’s works not the least of whom are the women that I have gathered weekly with to share our rugs and our stories.
