I designed and hooked this rug for the floor of a guest room in my bed and breakfast. That room was decorated with my collection of historic postcards of 19th and 20th century cowgirls. This rug was to be perfect for that room. After a year of working on it, I was finally able to put it on the floor which I did—for one day!! I realized I did not want anyone, bed and breakfast guests or otherwise to put one foot on this rug and within a day it became a wall hanging!
About the artist:
I have always been involved with the fiber arts. My grandma taught me to knit when I was around 12 and I made my first punch hooked rug while in college in the ’60s. Since then I’ve had a yarn shop, taught knitting and crocheting, tried my hand at weaving, and stumbled through a few quilts. However, when I found a wool shop nearby that had Rug Hooking Magazines, I knew I had found my fiber home!
