Derived from the epistle of color field painting, Kenneth Noland and Vincent van Gogh. I utilized Kenneth Noland’s painting and created a “Cosmos”, or self-portrait. Evolution of this series could result in deconstruction of a van Gogh painting, hooking it in the form of an abstract expressionist color field rug.
About the artist:

I’ve been hooking 8 and a half years longer than I thought I would. Originally instructed by Amy Berry, I just wanted to finish that first project. Then I thought I would do one more. Good grief! Since then, resolved that I would only reify my own ideas, finding inspiration everywhere, fabric artists, artists, museums, handling oriental rugs for 40 years, especially nomadic rugs. I hook every day.
