Inspired by the magic of the color wheel, and a lot of leftover wool.
After finishing a fussy geometric which required constant counting, I wanted to do somethng a little more relaxing. I was looking at my color wheel, and wondered if I could incorporate all the colors in one rug. I was also determined to use only what I had on hand, and not dye or buy any new wool.
I had admired a rug that Kathleen Harwood had made. Kathleen is a member of our local Rug Social group in Brattleboro, and I asked her to show me how to do “beading”. I thought it would be interesting to do a row or two of beading in the border. I got a little carried away, and did the entire border in beading, transitioning from one color to another by picking up the colors of the circle as I went along.
The entire rug was such fun to do!
